Ivanka Trump celebrates daughter's 13th birthday with Taylor Swift-inspired cake

Ivanka Trump has taken to social media to celebrate her daughter Arabella.

The granddaughter of Donald Trump celebrated her 13th birthday with a Taylor Swift-inspired cake on Wednesday (Thursday AEST).

Swift's favourite number is famously 13, and n top of the white love-heart-shaped cake was one of the singer's lyrics from the song Blank Space.

"Boys only want love if it's torture," it read across the top in white icing.

Inside the dessert there appeared to be a red layer - possibly jam, red dye or icing - smattered across the sponge, perhaps in a nod to Swift's hit Bad Blood or album Red.

"Best cake for my favourite Swiftie," she wrote on the shot showing the inside of the cake.

Ivanka shared a carousel of family photos to Instagram of the family's celebrations, which comes days after an assassination attempt on her dad, Donald.

"Happy 13th Birthday to my incredible daughter, Arabella," she said, in the caption

"Watching you grow into a teenager feels like a dream.

"Your beautiful singing and piano playing, our unforgettable horseback riding adventures, the strength and commitment you show in your Brazilian jiu-jitsu practice and our special girls-only date nights are moments I will forever cherish.

"Arabella, you inspire and amaze me every day. You are a remarkable young woman and my heart overflows with love for you. Happy Birthday!"

Arabella is Ivanka's eldest of three kids with husband Jared Kushner and their only daughter.

Sons Joseph and Theodore were born in October 2013 and March 2016 respectively.

While a teenage Swiftie is nothing unusual in this current era, it was an interesting choice to publicise so widely, given Ivanka's sister-in-law is Karlie Kloss.

Model Kloss, who is married to Jared's brother Joshua Kushner, was once Swift's best friend but it appears the pair aren't on speaking terms any more.

Ivanka has also become close friends with Kim Kardashian in recent years, bonding through the reality TV star and entrepreneur's prison reform work.

Swift and Kardashian have a famous feud dating back to the days Kardashian was married to Kanye West.
