Melania Trump's spokesperson trolls 'Insecure''s Issa Rae over First Lady remark

As spokeswoman for the First Lady of the United States, one would assume Stephanie Grisham has plenty of things to keep her busy that don't include goading a TV show creator on Twitter.

Alas... that is clearly not the case.

Grisham, who serves as Melania Trump's Press Secretary and Director of Communications, couldn't resist a jab at Issa Rae after the actress and Insecure creator referenced FLOTUS in a recent interview.

“She had just finished watching the [Insecure] finale, and she was like, ‘That fakeout — how could you do that?’” she told the magazine.

The former First Lady also told Rae she had her two daughters, Malia and Sasha, to thank for introducing her to the show.

“It was like talking to my aunty. It bums me out that I will never have that feeling again of the first family ... getting us,” the 33-year-old actress mused.

If you hadn't already guessed, Rae isn't exactly a fan of the current US administration.

She let that be known when Glamour asked how she'd react if Melania Trump had reacted to Insecure in the same way as Michelle Obama.

That's the angle celebrity gossip website Page Six honed in on in its write-up of Rae's Glamour interview, titling the piece, "Issa Rae would cancel Insecure if Melania Trump loved it."

Stephanie Grisham presumably has a Google alert set up for her famous charge's name, because she found the Page Six piece and promptly shared it on Twitter.

"Alert: FYI @IssaRae, @FLOTUS likes your show!" she wrote.

Plenty of the White House staffer's followers were quick to point out that, uh... surely there are more important things to focus on?

"Don't y'all have a country to run?" one wrote.

For her part, Rae seemed unbothered by Grisham's clapback.

Sharing the spokeswoman's tweet, she quipped, "Melania or the double?" - referring to the bizarre conspiracy theory that Melania has been replaced with a stunt double for several public appearances.
