’30 Ways To Keep Your Husband’ rule book shocks

A woman has discovered a book called 30 Ways To Keep Your Husband, and shared it on a Facebook group.

People are not impressed.

The woman posted samples of the book on a wedding planning Facebook page.

The rules include "never raise your voice for any reason to your husband" and warns women against being "defensive" explaining that defensive women don't have a happy home.

The author is anonymous but is thought to be a man who claims his advice is based on passages from the bible.

The list also suggests wives should do her "duties", not be "wasteful" and remember her "husband's sweat is too precious to be wasted", so don't ask him to do too much.

Other rules include "never raise your voice for any reason to your husband" as this is a "sign of disrespect", advises women not to expose their husband's "weaknesses to your family and friends" and to take care applying makeup, "because your husband will always be surrounded by prettier women".

Wives should also cook well because "no man jokes with food".

The author also said women should never deny their husband's sex, raising important issues of consent.

But it's not all bad news.

Happily married women commented on the post in droves, saying they are examples of what happens when you don't follow archaic rules such as those featured in this book.

"I've been happily married almost 15 years, I don't follow any of these," says one woman who met her husband at church.

Someone else suggested someone write as similar book for husbands.
