A storage hack using a small part of an item you usually recycle can help double the hanging space in your wardrobe.
Australia's home hacks queen Chantel Mila Ibbotson has revealed the clever trick in a TikTok video featuring five wardrobe organisation tips as part of her spring cleaning series.
All you need for this hack is some of the tabs from drinks cans, which you simply slide over the top of the coat hanger to create a kind of hook for another coat hanger to slide into.

"Use soda tabs to keep sets together and double your wardrobe hanging space," she said in the video.
Theoretically, you could more than double your wardrobe hanging space by adding a tab to the second clothes hanger, however too many may become bulky so test it out before committing to more than one.
Using a tiny part of something that goes in the recycling bin means you can hang more items without spending any cash on storage gadgets.

The $0 hack also allows you to save that cash for other storage units like shelf dividers, which Ibbotson recommends as a way to maximise shelf space. These are also handy in the linen cupboard for separating sheet sets.
But you can't reorganise your wardrobe without first decluttering it and another tip the mum-of-two shared will help with that.

"I picked up some Rcycl and Rewear bags from my local Salvos where you can sort clothes into ones that can be reworn and donated, and ones that are at their end of their shelf-life and can be recycled to create new materials," she said.
And to keep all the items in the wardrobe smelling fresh, Ibbotson recommends adding epsom salts into small drawstring fabric bags, adding a few drops of essential oil and placing that over a clothes hanger.
