The one thing you need to do after every shower to prevent mould
Mould and mildew are almost inevitable in the shower thanks to all that moisture from water and steam.
But getting into the habit of doing just two simple things after you've finished could prevent the fungi from becoming a huge problem.
DIY guru Charlie White revealed in a TikTok video the post-shower rules he has in his house to reduce the amount of moisture in the bathroom.

"After each shower we've gotten into the habit of squeegeeing down the shower screen walls and even the shower tray," he said.
To show just how much moisture is left on the shower walls he used a window vac to remove the water.

The other thing White insists all members of his family do after each shower to reduce the potential for mould to grow is open the window after every shower.
This allows the steam in the room to escape and fresh air to enter and circulate the room.
It's also helpful to run the exhaust fan while you're in the shower (and leave it on after if you don't have a window).
The easiest way to clean a mouldy shower is using a combination of vinegar and water in a spray bottle and wiping (or scrubbing as you may need to do with grout) off.
This can be used to clean the shower even when mould isn't present or is only covering a small patch as it will help remove any fungal spores and keep the problem from getting to a huge problem.

If you find that mould appears despite trying all the prevention methods you'll need to call in the professionals as it can be caused by things like leaks and damaged grout.
