Drew Barrymore casually drops a super-smart DIY tip while shopping for supplies to revamp her kitchen
Drew Barrymore's skills as an actress, producer and talk show host are legendary, but the DIY tip and storage hack she just casually shared proves she knows her stuff when it comes to home improvement too.
The Wedding Singer star detailed her plans to revamp her kitchen in a product haul video posted to TikTok.
In the video, the 49-year-old listed the products she bought and what she was using them for.

"OK I'm at Home Depot, this is my haul: specialised [cup] hooks, a rod to fit in them to hold curtains under the cabinets in the kitchen and to make a curtain rod into a pot rack, and I ordered yellow S-hooks that are going to be so cheerful for it," she said.
Both those projects will spruce up any kitchen, but using a curtain rod as pot storage is particularly clever, so keep that hack in mind next time you're looking for storage inspiration.
But it's Barrymore's next tip that really impressed and would make any DIY project look even more stylish, and it's worth thinking about next time you install a curtain rod.
"I got, like, specialised green wire so it would look more home-spun. I'm paying attention to the colour of the screws, I like the patina on these they're sort of old and brassy, so they'll automatically look antique, because you can buy black rods but then put them in with silver screws (shakes her head and screws up her face)? Hmmm bad – put them in with beautiful vintage looking brass screws. Why not?"

So rather than just buy the right sized screws, hooks and wire, paying attention to the colour and finish of those supplies and matching it to the style you want your kitchen to have will make the project look even better.
Barrymore's fans loved the clip and seeing the movie star doing regular things like the rest of us.
"I love how you're Drew Barrymore you're at Home Depot nonchalant just cruising along shopping. You're the best ever," one commented.
