The one gross mess janitor Brandon Pleshek can't stand cleaning: 'I've even passed out'

Brandon Pleshek jokes that he was born with a vacuum cleaner in his hand as the third generation to join his family's cleaning business.

So it's not surprising then that gross grimey, mouldy and dusty messes don't faze the American janitor.

But during an interview on Today Extra he admitted there is just one thing that he can't bear to clean up and we don't blame him.

"I've cleaned pretty much all the gross things. The one thing I will say, and most stuff doesn't phase me but I've never been good with blood, ever since I was a little kid. It always gets me queasy, I've even passed out a few times so that's usually something I leave to other types of cleaners, so I can't touch that," he said.

Pleshek has become famous for his cleaning tips and hacks thanks to his videos on TikTok where he has 1.7 million followers and 37 million likes.

Despite that fame and the sponsorships that have come with it, he said he won't quit his day job as a janitor because cleaning things provides the very footage he needs to make videos for social media.

One of Pleshek's most popular tips online is also the hack that propelled him to internet stardom; cleaning a ceiling fan blade with a pillow case.

"That was something my grandma taught me many, many years ago and it's just something that I've always done and known and I posted that on the internet and it just went crazy viral," he said.

Another popular video shows Pleshek demonstrating how to use a leaf blower to clean a dryer vent, though filming it didn't quite go as planned

"I also suggest to use some pantyhose to put on the end [of the vent] to catch all the lint. As you can see [above] I didn't do that and my wife ended up [covered with] lint," he laughed.

Pleshek also revealed his simple DIY cleaning spray which can be used for areas like the bathroom, including shower glass. Watch the video above to find out what you need to make it.
