You don't need countless cleaning products - I use this $2 Aldi buy to clean my whole house

Cleaning products have gotten crazy expensive.

A pack of disinfectant wipes is about minimum $5, for a new bottle of spray and wipe you're probably looking at around $4 and I've seen some floor cleaners going for upwards of $10.

And while these prices might not seem astronomical, the issue is how soon you need to replace them.

If you're living in a household with multiple other people, whether it be your kids or roommates, a bottle of spray and wipe can disappear within a week.

And with the current cost of day-to-day life, spending $5 a week per cleaning product is simply not sustainable.

Which means, it's time to get creative with cleaning.

After my roommates and I realised the amount we were spending on cleaning products, we decided we needed a solution.

I had a faint memory of a cleaning hack my mum had when we were younger so I gave her a call to ask what it was.

As it turns out, the only cleaning product you need is a $2 bottle of dishwashing liquid.

My household uses the $1.79 Tandil Ultra Quick Dry dishwashing liquid from Aldi, and honestly, the house has never looked more sparkling.

Obviously we use it to clean our dishes, but we also use it for the floors and surfaces.

And the best part is that you only need the tiniest amount, if you use too much you're going to end up with sticky floors and counters.

Basically, since dishwashing liquid's whole purpose is to break down grease, dirt and grime, it's the perfect product to get your house squeaky clean.

When it comes to surfaces, simply just mix a few drops in a big bowl of water and use a cloth to wipe everything down.

And for the floors? Just squeeze a tad of dishwashing liquid into a mop bucket full of water and you're good to go!
