Old-school $5 cleaning product that cleans grime with no scrubbing
The most irritating part of cleaning the kitchen is the back-breaking scrubbing that needs to be done in order to lift burnt-on grime that just will not budge.
One professional cleaner may have found a solution that prevents it altogether, with a well-loved yet forgotten-about product that only costs $5 a kilogram.
It is of course, washing soda.

Washing soda was the go-to cleaning product before the invention of more modern cleaning products. Made up completely of natural sodium carbonate, it is free from any harsh chemicals, dyes, colourants or fragrance.
It can be used in virtually any area of the house as an all-purpose household cleaner, as a booster for detergent, to soften water, or even to make your very own cleaning spray.
But many have found it to be a one-stop solution for baked-on food and stains. One professional cleaning Instagram account, @thecleangroup, used the liquid form of the product – called liquid soda crystals – to power through and remove the grime.
Calling it the "unsung hero of kitchen cleaning", the professionals used it by first sprinkling bicarbonate of soda onto their oven tray, then going in with half a cup of liquid crystals, before filling the tray with boiling water and then leaving it to simmer on the stove for 30-45 minutes.
Once the worst of the grime starts to lift, you'll know that all of it has lifted and you'll have a completely clean oven tray with just one rinse!
Many were surprised by the results.

The pros added that this method can "absolutely" be used to clean difficult-to-clean products such as air fryer baskets.
