Bunnings' $1 mini version of its most iconic product is flying off shelves just days after launch

When it comes to Bunnings products, it's hard to find an item more beloved for its versatility and usefulness than the store's own branded bucket.

It's been described as 'the George Clooney of buckets' and 'the next best thing to sliced bread' among other high praise in the many reviews on Bunnings' website.

Now, the much-loved 20L and 10L buckets, which cost $8.99 and $4.49, respectively, have been upstaged by the ridiculously cute mini bucket, priced at just $1.

The mini bucket is available while stocks last and after just a few days on shelves only limited stock is available.

"It's great to see a strong response to our new limited edition Bunnings mini buckets, which have quickly gone viral. Priced at just $1, these 600mL buckets are proving very popular with our customers," a Bunnings spokesperson told 9honey Living.

Despite the mini size of the new version, the bucket seems just as versatile as the larger buckets, which have been used as everything from hauling pebbles, to drums and planters.

The mini buckets are made with food grade plastic making them perfect as party favour bags or treat holders.

"That's it's kids Halloween trick or treat bucket coming your way," a shopper commented.

"All I can see is a drink jug for summer bucket drinks," another said.

One person shared in the comments section of Bunnings TikTok video on the bucket that it will be handy for her chickens.

"These would be perfect for chook waterers for my show bantams."

Another can see it being useful as office décor.

"I dont need it.. nah I need it.. desk trash can here I come," they commented.

A child who was lucky enough to be given a bucket is using it for storage.

"My daughter puts her crayons in it," a mum wrote.

Bunnings also suggests using them as plant pots and showed two buckets with an indoor plant in each of them.

If you can't think of a use yet but like so many other shoppers find them so irresistibly cute that you have to have one, then the use might reveal itself to you later.

"You will be surprised how useful, out of everything on earth, a mini bucket is," a customer commenting on Bunnings' TikTok said.

That's good advice because it seems the mini bucket is a must-have.

"I need them. Not sure why yet but yes baby !!" one said.

"I just brought 11 of these beauties," a shopper wrote.

"Is there a limit to how many one person can buy per transaction? Asking for a friend," another joked.

There did seem to be one frustration for customers and it's that there is no lid for the mini buckets, which makes sealing anything you're storing in there difficult.

But lid or no lid, they're still strangely adorable and only $1.
