Rachel's second big "no no" is using fine tooth combs or big brushes for the specific purpose of untangling your hair. She held up four brushes, including a salon-style roller brush and two different types of combs.

"Number three. I would never tie my hair up wet," she continued. "Number four, I would never not use a heat protector."

Finally, Rachel said she would never shampoo her hair just once on her hair washing day. "I always shampoo twice," she explained.

After her video attracted 1.8 million views, hundreds of commenters asked Rachel to clarify some of her rules.

In a follow-up clip, Rachel said using a comb to detangle your hair causes breakage and stress on your scalp.

Instead, she recommends using a brush with soft teeth for gentle detangling.

When a follower asked why people shouldn't tie their hair up while it is still wet, Rachel said it encourages breakage because your strands are "stretchy" while carrying water.

The most popular queries directed at the hairdresser was why she recommends shampooing twice.

Rachel explained the double shampoo technique ensures your hair is cleaner for longer.

"If we miss areas, that means any oil, dry skin or dandruff left on your scalp is going to build up really quickly, so you'll actually find you'll need to wash your hair again much sooner," she revealed.

"Shampooing twice just gives us more of a chance to get our scalp completely clean."
