Guy makes creative Spotify playlist to blast messy housemates

Anyone who has lived in shared accommodation knows the perils of cohabiting with others. Few things are more annoying than someone who leaves dirty dishes in the sink or never takes the bins out.

Ben Winter knows the feeling.

After growing tired of his messy housemates, the 20-year-old from Southampton decided to deliver a not-so-subtle message in the form of a Spotify playlist.

Ben, a presenter and assistant manager at Radio Sonar, downloaded a list of music which strung together tells his housemates how he really feels.

The list reads: "Dishes, dishes, dirty dishes. Please for the love of God clean up after yourself or at least hide the evidence.

“I can’t wait to move far away and then, If I never see you again, I will be the happiest man alive.

“Good f--king bye. Oh. and one more thing, someone else take the bins out for a change. Pretty f--king sick (of it all). Kind regards, disgruntled b----rd.”

As you can see, it's not hard to ride between the lines.

Ben later tweeted a screenshot playlist, writing: “Made my housemates a playlist of some tracks I’m really digging atm [at the moment].”

The tweet has already been liked more than 44,000 times.

Ben later told Metro he had made the playlist “just for a laugh”.

“I thought it would be a more subtle way of getting the message across to my housemates that they need to start pulling their weight a bit more.

“I originally thought they were never going to speak to me again, but thankfully they all saw the funny side.”

While he admitted it was a “friendly joke”, he added that he hoped his housemates would also take the tweet “a bit more seriously”.

“We haven’t had our bins collected in over two weeks and it’s getting out of control.”
