Video reveals the one thing Woolies staff never want you to do
Woolworths has seemingly settled an age-old debate over where you should pop your basket at the self-serve checkout and the register in a series of TikTok videos.
Despite the official advice coming from Woolworths themselves, not everyone agrees with the supermarket giant's assertion – with some Woolies staff revealing the number one thing you should never do at a checkout.
The TikTok clips, which was posted to the Woolworths official account, says that when at a register, after unpacking your basket you should place it beneath the conveyor belt.

"When you put your basket down there, a team member will collect it and place it into the basket holder at the front of the store so that the fun can be shared with another customer," says Liam Kirley, the supermarket's face of TikTok.
Woolies employers sounded off in the comment section, thanking Woolworths for clearing up where the baskets should go and revealed the one thing you should never do at the conveyor belt.
"Do not, I repeat, DO NOT put your basket on the conveyor belt for the team member to have to take off," one commenter wrote.
"Don't dump the basket on the conveyor belt please," another commenter added.

"That means take everything out of the basket and don't leave me to unpack, thank you."
For those wondering about self-serve basket etiquette, Kirley was quick to make a follow-up video explaining exactly what you should do with your basket.
"Simply scan your item, put it in the bagging area and then you can place your basket down here," he says.

Similarly, Woolies staff also said to either put the basket back on the rack or leave it at the self-serve checkout rather than beneath. TikTok
"As someone who used to work at Woolworths, please just put in that little bit of effort and put it back in the basket holder."
"Don't put the basket underneath the shelf or else the next person won't be able to fit their trolley," another pointed out.
"Nooo, don't put it underneath, leave it on top! It kills our backs bending down to pick every basket up," a third added.
