A story of 'revenge' in a McDonald's drive-thru has done the rounds on Facebook, but all is not as it seems.

In a post that's gone viral, an anonymous woman documented her response to an impatient "young lady" who beeped at her in at their local drive-thru because she was taking too long.

However, as the post attracted attention from commenters, the woman quickly clarified she copied the post from an old friend, and revealed: "I don't do McDonald's."

"Good for you! Maybe it was an accident?" asked another.
