Where to store milk in the fridge so it lasts longer
Most families don't hold onto milk long enough for it to spoil, but if that has happened in your household it could be because of how you are storing it.
A TikTok page called Cost of Living Crisis Tips has explained exactly how milk should be stored to ensure it lasts as long as possible.
"Have you ever had milk in your fridge that's still in date and it's gone off? Now you know," we are asked, before being told: "Don't put your milk on the fridge door like this. When you open the fridge door, it pulls away from the cool air – affecting the freshness."
Instead, we are told to "put the milk at the back of the fridge to make it last longer".

Many of the channel's TikTok followers agree this is a good course of action.
"It does actually work. I put ours behind the sprouts and the kids can't find it so it lasts a lot longer," one commented.
"Milk doesn't last long enough in our house to go bad," another said.

Instead we are told to put it in the fridge at the back of a shelf. TikTok
"I always put my milk in the fridge and not inside the door," another said.
Another advised buying cartons of milk rather than bottles because they last longer.
Others argued they don't think this particular tip is necessary.
"My milk goes in the door and is still good a week after use by date," one said.

"The door is the coldest part of the fridge," one argued.
"Fridge manufacturers spend enough to ensure their placement works for majority. I use same milk and last a month or longer than use by date," another said.
