Taste Atlas has released the top 100 food cities in the world: These are your top 10

Some people travel for culture, others travel for Instagram content, but a common reason we all travel is to try new, delicious food.

Sure, we can eat a nice Italian pizza here in Australia, but it's probably going to be tastier if you jump on a plane to Italy.

So, for those looking to travel the world eating the best food around, Taste Atlas has released their list of the top 100 food cities.

The list was compiled from 477,287 food ratings across 17,073 cities.

The top 100 were the cities that has the highest average ratings for both regional and national dishes commonly served there.

Now, if you can't afford the overseas travel, don't stress.

Melbourne came in at number 47 and was the only Australian city on the list, with must try dishes including chicken parmigiana, hot jam donuts and cruffins.

Coming in at number 10 on the list is Osaka, Japan.

If you're after some traditional Japanese pancakes, otherwise known as okonomiyaki, this is the place for you.

According to Taste Atlas, you have to try the Shabu-Shabu and Kushiage, and if you're after restaurant recommendations try out Suhsi Ohata or Okonomiyaki Chitose.
