TikTok food hack proves you've been cutting onions wrong
A woman has shared her simple food hack for cutting onions and it will save you a lot of tears.
In a video posted to TikTok, Nicole Renard (aka Nicole the Nomad), shared her easy trick to reduce tears while cutting onions revealing that all you need is a paper towel. Watch the full video above.
In the clip, Renard says, "I just saw this thing that says if you cut an onion next to a wet paper towel then you don't cry, because apparently an onion is attracted to the nearest water source."

"Which, without the paper towel, would be your tear ducts. I want to see if this works," she says. "I tell you what, if this works then I'm going to be amazed, because I always cry when I cut onions."
As the video continues, Renard starts to slice up her onion, and, to her surprise, does not shed a single tear.
"Oh my gosh, you're kidding me! Oh my gosh! No tears. At all. I'm shook," she said.
The video garnered plenty of internet attention, receiving over 230,000 likes and almost 3000 comments.

Internet goers praised Renard for the genius hack, with one user writing, "Who needs school when you have TikTok?"
"Literally tried that today too and it worked!" another added.
One user shared another trick commenting, "If you leave a cold tap running it works too."
