Ryan Gosling visits Toronto coffee shop after social media campaign

Hey Girl, Ryan Gosling just made a cafe owner's year with his latest gesture.

The heart throb was in his home town for the Toronto Film Festival, and Joelle Murray, owner of Grinder coffee mounted a social media campaign to get Gosling to pay them a visit.

The campaign started like any good social media campaign, with a hashtag. It didn't take long before#RyanNeedsGrinder went viral on twitter.

After a week's worth of lobbying that featured Gosling in a life-size cardboard cutout, holding a branded espresso mug - this local coffee shop's dream was finally granted.

The mayor of Toronto followed up, and stopped by to show his support for the campaign. The countdown to Gosling eventual visit was on.

Then, the entire Grinder community committed to 10 days of tweeting to get the job done.

Day 6 saw the Gosling cutout being tucked into a massage table for some relaxation. 'We think you need a Me day to prepare. May we suggest a #matchalatte with a fresh new do and a massage' the tweet said.

Finally, Gosling got the message and showed up to the coffee shop for a cuddle and a coffee.

Other cafes should take note of the sheer determination involved in getting your favourite star to show up to your business.

'I'm feeling emotional about it' the owner told Today Food after their meeting.

'He didn't have to take time out of his crazy schedule to visit my 800 square-foot shop. It shows the power of kindness' she continued.

Gosling's kind act proves that if you want something badly enough, occasionally the universe will pull through for you.
