Your favourite orange carving veg has a fruity new foe—and the internet approves.

There's a new carved out piece of rotting produce in town lighting up your Halloween festivities this year, and online critics are unanimous—the pineapple jack-o'-lantern is infinitely cooler than its pumpkin predecessor.

Traditionally pumpkins, or even turnips, were the lantern of choice for Halloween buffs, but a flurry of Instagram snaps favouring the hollowed-out pineapple points to a deliciously tropical new trend.
