Hungry McDonald's customer denied refund after food goes missing
A hungry Mcdonald's customer in the US has been left disappointed after receiving confirmation their food had arrived, only to find a lemonade in the bag.
Christianna, who lives in Oregon, has shared on TikTok she ordered food and a drink however only the drink was left at her front door.
When she contacted the food delivery service, she was told she didn't qualify for a refund. She did eventually get her money back, but only after contacting her bank.

When she opened the bag she saw the drink and no food, quickly contacting Uber over the missing food for which she had paid $15 ($22.50).
She asked for a full refund but was told that wouldn't be possible.
When she questioned the decision, she received a message which read: "I totally agree with your reasons for a full refund or some compensation for the order this order [sic] I am also a customer like you.
"However, there are certain limitations on our end due to which we are unable to fulfil your request at the moment."

So she asked: "And what are those limitations? A sprite is not worth $15."
She asked what they expected her to do over her missing meal, to which they responded: "We're sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you. We thrive to offer you the best experience always, however this case of yours does not qualify for a refund.
The conversation continued, with no resolution. TikTok
"Christianna, since I have already provided you with the best possible resolution and there are no further resolutions and there are no further resolutions to this issue, I am now closing this chat from my end," they continued.
"You can write back to us if you have further queries. Thank you for using our live chat service."
TikTokers were quick to share similar disappointing experiences.
"My DoorDash driver acted like he dropped my stuff off and then blocked me on the app," one shared.
One TikToker suggested this is more common due to some customers lying about not having received their orders. Getty
"Literally a couple of days ago someone stole my McDonald's that I ordered on Door Dash and I couldn't even get a refund."
One suggested this outcome is becoming more common because customers have been lying about not receiving their orders in order to gain a refund.
"This happens now because of all the people lying in the app saying they didn't get their food. Now, when it's actually true, they won't give a refund."
"This is why you have to pay for it with PayPal," another suggested. "I disputed it and I won."
Another said they were always able to get a refund from Uber Eats when needed, and suggested customers restart their complaint to talk to a different agent for a better outcome.
