McDonald's is giving away 5 million free items across Australia – here's how to claim yours.

Macca's has announced a major giveaway across Australia starting this week.

The fast food giant is giving away free McPops with any medium or large McCafé drink from February 11, while stocks last.

This deal is part of Macca's Year of Value, with a 12-month price promise locking in favourites like the $6.95 McSmart Meal and Loose Change Menu.

McPops come in Choc, Berry, and Biscoff flavours. Each is a mini doughnut filled with a special filling.

Choc McPop is a mini cocoa doughnut filled with chocolate and dusted with cocoa, while the Berry McPop is a pink doughnut with a red berry filling and dusted with sugar.

Trhe Biscoff McPop is a plain mini doughnut with a Biscoff filling and topped with icing sugar.

The popular snacks usually cost $1.50 for one or $2.50 for two, so a good saving for those who fancy a sweet treat with their drink.

Macca's Year of Value is a 12-month price promise locking in favourites like the $6.95 McSmart Meal, Loose Change Menu, as well as ongoing deals and rewards available through MyMacca's app.

The McPops giveaway is available via drive-thru, front counter, kiosk, the MyMacca's app, and Uber Eats, but it excludes Frappes.

McDonald's recently launched a limited-edition Friends Meal based around the legendary sitcom, starting on January 28.

The meal comes with a Big Mac or 10-piece Chicken McNuggets served with fries and a drink.

Each meal comes in themed Friends packaging and includes one of six exclusive collectibles inspired by iconic moments, like Ross with his pet monkey Marcel and Phoebe's signature guitar.

When you choose the Friends Meal with Chicken McNuggets, you'll get Monica's Marinara Sauce.

To celebrate the launch, fans can also go in the draw to win a limited‑edition set of four Friends Collector Mugs exclusively via the MyMacca's App.

There are 300 sets of mugs up for grabs.

The price of a Friends Meal is expected to be around $14.99.
