McDonald's announce free delivery for this weekend

Katherine Scott

Macca's fans rejoice — the fast food giant has just announced they'll be offering free delivery via UberEats on all orders over $25 for this weekend.

The offer will be available at McDonald's stores around the country, from Friday April 17 until Sunday 19.

The delivery promotion comes nearly a week after many rival fast food brands dropped delivery fees for the Easter long weekend, including Subway and KFC.

Despite being late to the party, fast food fans may be able to seize the opportunity to snap up items from McDonald's new, expanded essentials menu, including staples as eggs, bread rolls and a range of cow's and alternative milk products.

Jo Feeney, Marketing Director at McDonald's Australia, hinted at the free delivery offer being prolonged to include other dates throughout April.

"Throughout this month, we'll be giving Macca's customers who order contactless McDelivery via the UberEats app free delivery on any orders over $25," Ms Feeney said.

"To start with, the offer will be available for those who place a Macca's order on the UberEats app this coming Friday, Saturday and Sunday."

McDonald's began offering the expanded essentials range via McDelivery from last weekend, starting in New South Wales before trickling over to other states.

Amongst the newest items to shop, are egg cartons and almond, soy and lactose-free milk cartons.

McDelivery is available via UberEats, Deliveroo or DoorDash, but the weekend promotion for free delivery for orders over $25 will, for now, only be available when customers order through UberEats.
