Fast food giant KFC has come under fire by customers outraged over a change made to the iconic Zinger Box.

After ordering a Zinger Box, one customer noticed the traditional three wicked wings had been replaced by two pieces of boneless chicken.

They became so upset they took to Reddit to publicly vow to 'never dine at KFC again' and went as far as to describe the ordeal as the death of a Reddit.

"For those who are unaware, KFC has DEFILED their marquee menu item, the Zinger Box, by replacing the three wicked wings traditionally included in the box with two of their new boneless pieces," they wrote on Reddit on Monday.

As the post continued, the author encouraged others to shop elsewhere.

"Don't let KFC get away with this," they wrote.

"Take your business elsewhere. Quality fast food chains like Red Rooster, El Jannah, and even your local kebab place, all provide infinitely higher quality chicken than what you'll find in a KFC Zinger Box."

Obviously offended by the 'drastic' change, the author went as far as to say it was an issue of national concern.

"This fundamental change to Australian life has blindsided everyone," they said. "This is a national outrage."

Meanwhile, others defended KFC.

"I can still get a normal zinger box with wings bro, I just got it today," one wrote.

"Boneless over wicked wings ANY day," added another KFC fan.

A TikTok posted earlier by an account dedicated to KFC also revealing the change received 2.7 million views and attracted other unsatisfied customers.

"I swear KFC hates their customers," wrote one.

"KFC has massacred their menu in the last few years," added another.

But fear not. A KFC spokesperson confirmed the traditional order was not gone for good, and that die-hard fans just have to ask if they'd prefer wings.

"Since adding Hot and Crispy to our permanent menu, we've put a new spin on our Zinger Box, offering it with two-pieces of Hot and Crispy instead of three Wicked Wings," they said in a statement.

"But fear not, Zinger Box fans, you can still get your hands on the classic Zinger Box with three Wicked Wings if that's the way you swing. Just ask our friendly team or update in the KFC App."

The Reddit user is still not satisfied however, sharing their concern for the future.

In a recent edit they wrote: "Yes, I know you can ask to swap out the boneless pieces for the wicked wings, FOR NOW.

"How long before they stop allowing the swap? I am dreading to hear the fateful voice at the window, "sorry, we don't serve wicked wings anymore. This is the beginning of the end."
