Here's how to host eight to 10 people this Christmas for under $100

Gabrielle Oehlmann

Christmas is hot on our tails and, while the baubles, presents and decorations are exciting, for many the most cherished part of the holiday is gathering your nearest and dearest around the dining table for a meal.

Glazed hams, roast potatoes and trifles will be making appearances at long lunches across the country, but with the ongoing cost of living crisis it will come at a pretty penny.

Feeding a group of people is no cheap feat at the best of times, but the indulgence Christmas brings makes it even more expensive.

Hosting Christmas on a budget may feel impossible, but Aldi has proven it's not.

The grocery chain has gone to work to put together a menu to help Aussies put Christmas lunch on the table for less than $100.

Sounds crazy, right? Well, apparently not.

Aldi has crunched the numbers and put together a shopping list for feeding eight to 10 people for less than $100.

That works out to $12.37 per head when hosting eight people or just $9.90 per head when hosting 10 people.

The menu includes all the Christmas favourites we all know and love - including seafood, turkey and ham - and doesn't skimp out on dessert.

"Christmas should be all about enjoying the company of your loved ones and having time to make memories and share good food," an Aldi spokesperson tells 9honey.

"Aldi's frozen Christmas range this year not only takes the stress out of preparing the festive feast but also allows shoppers the ability to go a little extra without breaking the budget.

Meat

It's common to have plenty of meat options on the Christmas table, but ham and turkey consistently top the list.

I don't know about you but my favourite food at Christmas is the sides. Crispy potatoes and gravy-covered veggies always go down a treat.

Aldi got the memo, and has included a bunch of delicious sides in their budget Christmas shopping list.

The list includes Aldi's New Vegetable parcel selection, two lots of Christmas Favourites Rosemary and Garlic Potatoes, two lots of Balsamic Brussels sprouts and two bags of carrots.
