The optical illusion candles, which look so much like the real thing you'd be forgiven for wanting to take a bite, are the result of a collaboration with Australian fragrance brand Angel Aromatics, which has been operating since 1933.

Not only do the 'Fried Lights' candles look like real chicken drumsticks, they smell like them too, boasting a mouth-watering savoury chicken scent complete with notes of Red Rooster chicken salt.

In fact, the Red Rooster X Angel Aromatics candles appear to be so realistic that the brands had to include a warning for anyone buying them from the official website.

"NOT TO BE CONSUMED. THIS IS NOT FOOD," the warning reads in bold, capital letters.

Australians stocking up on stocking stuffers can grab a pack of three limited edition 'Fried Lights' candles for just $29.95 online, while stocks last.

Each pack with three fried chicken candles (two large drumsticks and one small) just like the real 3 Piece Satisfryer chicken meals Red Rooster slings at its restaurants.

It also comes with a bonus gift: a voucher for a free regular chips at any Red Rooster.

That will certainly come in handy for anyone who receives the chicken-scented candles as a Christmas gift and finds themselves feeling peckish as soon as they light them.

It's not the first time Red Rooster has delighted Australians with a new launch this year, though most of the exciting announcements in 2024 have been about food menu items.

In October the beloved chicken restaurant announced it would officially start serving up Vanilla Slice Bites for Aussie diners with a sweet tooth.

At the same time, it revealed Hot Honey Crunch Fried Chicken would be added to the menu for those who can't decide between savoury and sweet options.

Earlier in the year, Red Rooster launched its most divisive menu item to date: the Picklebird burger.

Stacked with two chicken tenders, lettuce, tomato, cheese, chipotle pickles and pickle mayo sauce, the burger was a hit with Australia's pickle-loving population (small though it may be).
