Hatted restaurant now delivers as UberEATs launches in Sydney

We now officially have more delivery services in our metropolitan areas than you can wave a smartphone at, and restaurants previously suspicious of the service are increasingly jumping on board the four-wheeled delivery bandwagon.

With the launch of UberEATS in Sydney earlier today, restaurants, including the one-hatted Three Blue Ducks and modern diner Saké, will be burying any former qualms with the concept and giving inner-city foodies the option of home delivery.

From 11am (AEST) today (July 26, 2016) smartphone users were able to download the UberEATS app, or access via their existing Uber app, choose from hundreds of dishes and have them delivered straight to their door.

Melbourne beat Sydney to the Uber delivery punch by launching the service back in April. Unlike some delivery services, your Uber parcel can be tracked as it gets picked up and transported to your chosen address.

As it stands, Australia is the first and only country in the Southern Hemisphere to launch UberEATS.

The Sydney app is offering free delivery for a limited time, delivering between 11am-10pm daily.
