Bargain lovers go mad for Golden Gaytime packet cake hybrid

If one thing is certain it's that Golden Gaytime ice creams have a cult status in this country. We love them on a hot day and in any form or collaboration and sweet treat. When the biscuit crumb coating was released in a tin, we lost our minds. When Krispy Kreme did a collab, there was almost a riot... and now, cake lovers rejoice because you can get Golden Gaytimes as a cake. But not just as a cake.

Streets ice cream has teamed up with Australian packet cake kings, Green's, to launch a range of Golden Gaytime products. The four items sending everyone into a spin are Golden Gaytime crumb cake, Golden Gaytime brownie, Golden Gaytime mousse and Golden Gaytime brookie (biscuit sandwich). So. Many. Options!

Described as 'brand new toffee and vanilla flavoured, biscuit crumbed baking delights' from the Green's range, we can't wait to see what kind of a stampede this range will cause. And yes, the magic crumbs are included as a feature in each recipe.

"We know that Australians love to bake and treat themselves with iconic nostalgic flavours," said Peta Allsopp, Green's Head of Marketing and Innovation in a press release. "So we thought why not combine the two and create the ultimate Green's Golden Gaytime cake range — proving you actually can have your cake and eat it too."

And if the reaction is anything to go by, these products are going to be a huge hit.

It's already been shared on the Markdown Addicts Facebook page, alerting bargain lovers to the new products, but even without a markdown, fans are loving it, with over 800 comments to prove it.

The range launches today in Coles and in Woolworths on October 18. But as of this moment, we can say that fans are so very ready for this.

Comments include, "OMG I need these in my life" from one Markdown Addicts member.

"… I will soooo be buying these and making em all.." came the cry from another.

But a common theme was saying goodbye to diets once these products were available at local stores.

"When these arrive my diet is out the window," said one fan.

Another said, "Bad week to start making better nutrition decisions. Wonder if they will last until Christmas."

But our favourite comments pointed out that this is a great Aussie brand doing great things with an iconic Aussie treat.

"It's great this is an Aussie company they have a factory in Aus so it's made here too."

The most outrageous suggestion was this genius idea to really shake the day up;

"Just add Baileys and Kalahua to the mix - think could be a winner for breakfast."

Looks like the fans will be flocking...
