You might not remember the frustration you felt as a child when trying to fit a square block through the round hole – but as adults, now the act of trying to peel or cut something that is round with a straight and flat knife comes pretty close.

If you regularly lose count of how many cuts it takes you to get all of the peel off a pumpkin, this nifty kitchen hack shared by home hack influencer Chantel Mila is for you.

"Making soup has never been easier," Chantel shared on her popular Mama Mila TikTok account.

Trying to peel a pumpkin using a knife isn't easy. TikTok

Instead of using a knife to painstakingly cut away small parts of the peel one at a time, Chantel suggests to give yourself a break and use the oven instead.

"Place the full pumpkin in the oven for 20 minutes," she explains in the clip, which you can watch above.

"This softens the peel so you can simply peel it off!"

Indeed, once the pumpkin comes out of the oven, it's as simple as pulling the peel away.

And if you think having to wait that extra 20 minutes for the pumpkin to cook is too much time, maybe check to see how long it takes to do it the other way next time?

Her followers enjoyed the hack, with the clip already receiving hundreds of likes in just a few hours.

Once soft the pumpkin peel can simply be pulled right off. TikTok

It comes after another woman shared a simple 10-second orange peeling hack that also went viral a few weeks ago.

TikTok user Brittany Roper shared a video of herself cutting oranges in half. Once she has, she pushes a half from underneath to turn the orange inside out, resulting in easy-to-pick segments that are the perfect size for her little one.
