Cadbury's Favourites is making a major change to the beloved box of chocolates we all know and love.

The iconic chocolate brand is officially removing two chocolate bars from the Favourites box: the Dream and the Flake.

While the Dream and Flake bars will still be available in stores in the 50g version, the Aussie party favourite box will no longer include them.

Instead, the upgraded box will include Caramilk and Twirl bars.

Cadbury's parent company Mondelez International confirmed the news in a statement to the media.

"Caramilk and Twirl are among our most popular products and rightfully deserve their place in the Cadbury Favourites line-up," said Alex Blair, Mondelez's corporate and government affairs manager.

"Dream and Flake fans shouldn't fear - both remain widely available in bar and share-bag formats."

"The Twirl is a very good chocolate, I'll acknowledge that, the Caramilk is no good," he said.

"If you're going to remove some chocolates from the box, you'd get rid of the Old Gold and the Turkish Delight, surely, before you scrapped the Flake."

Reddit users also spotted the new Cadbury Favourites boxes in supermarkets across Australia and some shoppers weren't so impressed with the move.

"Don't mind Twirl but I personally don't like Caramilk - I prefer the party edition Favourites with the Freddos," another added.

But despite the huge public interest in Cadbury Favourites, it seems Australians prefer Roses chocolates as their number one choice.
