Woolies shopper astounded by the price of dishwashing tablets amid cost of living crisis
A Woolworths shopper has been left stunned after seeing the price of dishwashing tablets, calling it "highway robbery".
Brisbane mum Tanya Roberts was perusing the aisles at the local supermarket when the price of Fairy dishwashing tablets caught her eye, being a whopping $72 for just 45 tablets.
"$72 for 45 dishwashing tabs... you are kidding me!" said the mum in a TikTok video she uploaded that has now gone viral at 923.4 thousand views.

She also shared the price of Finish dishwashing tablets, amounting to $68.
"The prices of this sh-t, far out! Highway robbery!" Roberts added.
Commenters were just as stunned by the exorbitant pricing, with one commenter saying, "Woolworths price inflation is insane!"
"It's an actual joke! My dishwasher eats better than I do!" said one commenter.
"I do night fill at Woolies; the price increases I've noticed over the last few months are breathtaking," vouched one Woolies worker.

"We're gonna start just leaving our dishes out in the rain," one commenter joked.
Many commenters suggested alternatives to Woolworths, such as going to Aldi, Costco, and even Bunnings Warehouse for cheaper prices on dishwashing tablets.
Others suggested "Washing up detergent for $4 and 10 minutes at the sink." Another said, "Tabs are a scam anyway with pretty colours, get normal powder."

Finish dishwashing tablets were also exorbitantly priced. TikTok
"How is anyone shocked by the price hikes over the last 6 months? Simple. Just buy them when on special!" one suggested.
Woolworths told 9Honey in a comment, "We can't really talk about why Finish has gone up... But we sell 100 dishwashing tablets from our own brand Shine, which equates to just 13 cents a wash."
Procter and Gamble, the company which manufactures Fairy Dishwashing Tablets, has been reached for comment.
