South Australian bakery takes out title of Australia's best sausage roll
A bakery in South Australia has taken out the top honours for the best sausage roll in the country.
Banana Boogie Bakery in Belair, about 10 kilometres south of Adelaide's city centre, swept a field of 81 bakeries from around Australia to take the title.
"We did it. Took out best sausage roll in Australia," the bakery excitedly announced in a post to its Facebook page.

As well as taking out the top honours of best sausage roll, the bakery also won a number of categories on the day. Banana Boogie Bakery
Jason Spencer, the co-owner and head baker of Banana Boogie Bakery, told Today the secret to the win was down to one word – pastry.
"The pastry. We make top-notch pastry," Spencer said.

Pressed about what else makes their take on the iconic Aussie favourites so good, he said it was the flavour.
"Lots of the bad stuff," he said, laughing.
As well as taking out the best sausage roll, Spencer's team also picked up top awards for in the best vanilla slice, best seafood pie and best gourmet pie categories.

The winner was named on Saturday during a competition organised by the Baking Association of Australia at the Marion Hotel.
Judges reportedly tasted more than 300 baking goods, with the sausage roll title appearing in its own category for the first time this year.
