Beloved Aussie treat disappears from supermarket shelves as Allen's confirms it's been discontinued
Aussie lolly lovers have reported one of their favourite treats has disappeared from supermarket shelves.
The missing product is part of the Allen's confectionery range. Its absence was first reported on social media.
"Have you discontinued Mad About Teeth? I can't find them anywhere!" one panicked buyer commented on the company's Facebook page.

"Please bring back mad about teeth lollies," another said.
Further investigation by 9honey Kitchen found reports from as far back as 10 months ago questioning the whereabouts of the missing treat, with a panicked Reddit user starting a conversation called "allens have discontinued Mad About Teeth Lollies..." under the site's 'Candy' community.
"Look, i don't think anyone else is obsessed with them to the point that I am (i am actively chewing on one as i write this – yes i have no shame), or will even be that sad – but my suspicions were confirmed as of a few minutes ago. allens teeth lollies are being discontinued," they explained.

They even emailed the company for confirmation and received the following letter which read: "Thank you for contacting us about Allen's Mad About Teeth 170g. We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but sadly we've discontinued this product.
"The decision to stop making one of our products is never an easy one and it's never made lightly as we know there will be some loyal fans," the letter continued.
"As you can imagine, factors such as declining sales, retail space and new products being launched so that we can offer variety in our range, can often result in us having to discontinue products."
They ended by saying while they have "no current plans to reintroduce this product", they will be sure to share the customer's feedback with Allen's marketing team, adding that they "hope you'll continue to enjoy other products our range".
9honey Kitchen reached out to Allen's to confirm this is still the case and were told that while Mad About Teeth packets have been discontinued, the treats are still available as part of other packets.
"Allen's Mad About Teeth were available in their own bag for a limited time until last year," a spokesperson explained.

"Allen's Teeth can only be found in the Allen's Retro Party Mix and Classic Party Mix," they said.
"The Allen's team rotate lollies available in their own bag based on consumer demand and requests.
"The latest lolly return is Allen's Peaches & Cream in its own bag," the company spokesperson explained.

The treat can still be found in Retro Party Mix and Classic Party Mix. 9honey/Jo Abi
Allen's Mad About Teeth are a delicious combination of vanilla mint flavour and have proved popular in the past.
Both children and adults have fun with them, inserting them in place of their own teeth to take silly photos they hope will never be posted publicly.

They ended by saying: "The Allen's team are always listening to consumers to see what they want, so we encourage our fans to keep sharing their favourite flavours through the Allen's social pages."
