The Aldi multi-purpose designer dupe sending shoppers into a frenzy

Aldi has just dropped next week's Special Buys catalogue, but there's one designer dupe product in particular that has sent shoppers into a frenzy.

A brekkie and brunch themed Special Buys sale kicks off on Wednesday August 19 featuring a range of premium homewares without the big price tag.

Leading the specials is a brand-new product dubbed a Multi Snack Maker, featuring interchangeable plates that allows home cooks to make everything from waffles and mini doughnuts to oreshki cookies and grilled sandwiches.

The four-in-one appliance retails for $39.99, and savvy Aldi fans are already vowing to snap it up, with shoppers taking to the Aldi Mums Facebook page to share their excitement.

"We so need the waffle maker in our house, thanks for sharing," one user wrote, before being corrected.

"It's not just a waffle maker, it comes with different plates. Donut waffle."

Dozens of other fans tagged friends, spreading word about the handy buy, with one shopper noting "Everyone's excited for the waffle iron."

"I neeeeeeed that waffle etc press!!!!!!" another critic agreed.

"That snack maker I could have used in quarantine heating the cold food up."

The new product features four interchangeable plates with a non-stick coating, power and ready indicator lights, and can be stowed away upright for easy storage, according to the catalogue specs.

One eagle-eyed shopper noted retail rival Target is currently selling a similar product from premium brand De'Longhi, for almost $30 more than the Aldi version — or $60 more if you factor in the additional interchangeable plates.

"Wanted to buy the waffle maker target sells at $69 and have to buy the plates separately."

The $69 De'Longhi Snack Maker features sandwich press plates, with the option of buying waffle plates for an additional $29.

Another talked-about item from the sale is a retro-style toaster and kettle combo that takes design cues from premium brand Smeg, whose toasters and kettles retail for $219 each.

The 1.7L kettle retails for $39.99 and features a cordless jug, while the 4-slice toaster retails for $59.99 and comes equipped with cancel, reheat and defrost functions, as well as duel browning control.

"Can you guys not take all the bloody toasters & kettle this time... thanks mine are near dead and need replacing," one shopper wrote.

"Mmm that green kettle and toaster would look a treat in my kitchen."

"Damn I just bought a new toaster and kettle. Should have waited."

Among the other notable brunchy items going on sale next Wednesday are an egg cooker from $19.99, retro-style skirt aprons from $12.99, stoneware dinner sets from $9.99, and an adorable five-pack brunch accessory set from just $4.99.
