The $4 Aldi frozen item shoppers can't stop talking about

An Aldi shopper's $3.69 freezer aisle discovery has gone viral, with online critics praising the woman's obscenely simple dinner combo that left her husband 'raving' about how good it was.

Dana Logston Glachlan shared her excitement at stumbling upon the frozen buy to the Aldi Fans Australia Facebook page, explaining that she'd "just made the best dinner".

"Aldi now have bao buns and teriyaki chicken in their freezers so I put the two together with a bit of lettuce and sriracha mayo and my husband has been raving all night!"

The savvy shopper further admitted they were so good they "ate them too fast to get a picture".

The post struck a chord with the online community, with comments ranging from "Great idea" to "Omg delicious".

"Literally had that exact meal last night," one stunned shopper wrote, adding "we used our rice cooker to steam the buns".

"Fantastic. I make my own Bao buns. Takes all day. Will be checking these out tomorrow. Thankyou [sic]," another impressed home cook weighed in.

The Urban Eats Asia Style Bao Buns retail for $3.69 for a pack of eight buns.

The frozen steam buns pack isn't the only Aldi item to build a cult following. Last year, the German retailer's Choceur Liviano Hazelnut Creme bars went viral after a TikTok user and several Aldi shoppers claimed it was a more affordable dupe of Italian chocolate brand Bueno. Around the same time, Aldi's $7 frozen Greek Spanakopita Spinach and Cheese parcels also went viral on TikTok, with user @mernasfoodfomo naming it a "best-kept-secret".
