9Honey's 12 Hacks of Christmas: Three-ingredient fudge

Welcome to 9Honey's 12 Hacks of Christmas. And this is the fudge hack you need.

Three-ingredient fudge is the easiest treat you can make, everybody loves it and you can make it ahead and just whip it out as a foodie gift or last-minute treat with coffee. It's also so simple that you could leave the kids in charge of making it (keeping a watchful eye, of course). And there's no end to the decorations and extras you can add if you like –from nuts, to spices, fruits and extra candy pieces. But to be honest, here at 9Honey we are purists and are happiest with the simple three-ingredient game-changer.

The ingredients are:

• 395g tin sweetened condensed milk
• 340g dark chocolate (or a mix of the chocolate you like)
• dash of vanilla essence

The method is simple:

Line a slice tin with Glad Bake baking paper, leaving an overhang so that it's easy to take the fudge out of the tin once set.

Place all your ingredients into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave your mixture at 30 second intervals for 1.5 minutes (you must stir it every 30 seconds to make sure it melts evenly—do  not be tempted to just put it on for 1.5 minutes in one go, it will seize up).

Mix the fudge until smooth, pour it into your lined slice tin and smooth it out. Chill for two hours, or until hard and set.

Slice into small pieces and serve.

Note: If you'd like to give it away as gifts, I suggest wrapping it in some baking paper, or putting a small piece of Glad Bake baking paper between the pieces to stop them sticking together.

So easy, so delicious, for such a very merry Christmas.
