'Until we meet again': Father's tribute to daughter following drug death

A UK father has paid tribute to his teenage daughter, who police suspect died as a result of taking the drug MDMA.

Leah Heyes from North Yorkshire died on Saturday night. She was just 15.

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested for suspected drug offences following the death.

The girl was found in a car park at around 9.30pm on Saturday night by members of the public and taken to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrought, but later died.

Her father has paid tribute to his daughter, leaving a card at a makeshift memorial near where she was found, the Sun reports.

It read: "To my beautiful daughter Leah, I can’t believe you have gone, I still can't believe it and never will.

"Fly high and be happy. Until we meet again, you will always be in my thoughts, love you millions babe, hugs and kisses, love DAD xxxxx”.

Police have issued a warning over use of the drug, urging people who fall ill after taking it to seek medical assistance.

In Australia, MDMA has been blamed for the deaths of multiple young people at music festivals, prompting calls for pill testing at these events.
