Sarah Jessica Parker announces the shock closure of her shoe brand
Sarah Jessica Parker has announced that she is shutting up shop and closing her shoe business.
The And Just Like That star's company, The SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker Collection, announced the news in a statement obtained by WWD and Footwear News.
"After 10 colourful years, SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker has made the difficult decision to close its doors this fall," read the statement from the brand.

"The SJP Collection team expresses enormous gratitude to all of their loyal customers and supporters, as well as all those they've worked alongside," the statement concluded.
According to People, the shoe company's last storefront in New York will officially close on August 25th. Customers will still be able to shop online for an undetermined amount of time.

The SJP Collection still has various brick-and-mortar locations in Dubai, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
The shock decision to part ways with her shoe line comes a decade after SJP partnered with the late George Malkemus to create the brand.

The fashion businessman and the actress had a longstanding partnership long before SJP starred in Sex and the City, as Malkemus introduced her to Manolo Blahnik.
The designer brand would become a staple in the television series and SJP's wardrobe, and the pair remained close friends.

Launching the shoe collection in 2014, the duo opened their first flagship store in 2020 at New York's Seaport and a store on West 54th Street.
SJP and Malkemus worked together to run their business and designed their company's shoes until he died in 2021.

After the business survived COVID-19, it moved to New York's Bleecker Street, near the apartment of SJP's Sex and the City character Carrie Bradshaw.
The decision to relocate their store to this street attracted tourists who were on a filming locations tour.
SJP has not publicly commented on her business closing despite promoting a new shoe style earlier this month on Instagram.
