Stars marry fashion with art on the 2026 Met Gala red carpet

It's the first Monday in May over in New York, and that can only mean one thing: the 2026 Met Gala is finally upon us.
Stars have sashayed down the red carpet at New York's iconic Metropolitan Museum of Art in their fashion finery, in aid of raising funds for the museum's Costume Institute.
This year, guests were assigned the dress code Fashion is Art, part of the overall Met Gala – and Costume Institute exhibition – theme of Costume Art.
We're seeing plenty of colour, texture and nods to famous artworks and artistic mediums and movements.

If you look closely, you'll see the name Sabrina written on the central stone.

Hailey Bieber looks like she's about to go into battle.
The Rhode founder has teamed a molded gold breastplate with a blue skirt and shawl, referencing a 1969 collaboration between fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent and French artist and sculptor Claude Lalanne.
Bieber's outfit has been custom-made by Saint Laurent.
