Bec Judd leads the charge with an unexpected headwear trend at Melbourne Cup
Red might have been the colour du jour at the Melbourne Cup, but Bec Judd made a strong case for burgundy.
The presenter and model opted for a monochromatic look for her day out at Melbourne's Flemington Racecourse with husband Chris Judd.

The ensemble had a '60s feel, which was only enhanced by her choice of hat – one that proved to be a popular trend at Cup Day this year.
Judd opted for a pillbox hat, a classic headwear style that dates back to the 1930s and was popularised by US first lady Jackie Kennedy in the early '60s.
The Jaggad co-founder was in very good company, with plenty of celebrity attendees rocking the pillbox hat.

The Golden Bachelor host Samantha Armytage topped her red frock with a matching pillbox hat, as did DJ Perri Lee.
Former foreign affairs minister Julie Bishop, meanwhile, chose a beige version of the hat to contrast with her bright floral dress.
Food critic and former Masterchef judge Melissa Leong also went for contrast, teaming a black pillbox hat – complete with a veil – with her beautiful green dress.
Other big trends we spotted trackside were blue and yellow, as well as florals.
