All dogs are beautiful, even the ones that win "ugly dog" contests.
But some dogs are genetically blessed with what science considers the most aesthetically pleasing face.
To figure out which dog breeds have the "golden ratio" of facial proportions, the team at Showsight magazine analysed the most popular dog breeds in the US.
"We measured ratios between features like the eyes, nose, mouth, and overall head shape to give each one a number. The closer this aligned with the golden ratio of 1.62, the more beautiful the dog is based on this mathematical concept of ideal proportions," they said.

Blue Lacy dog
The blue Lacy dog originates from the US state of Texas and was bred as a working dog for things like herding and hunting.
American water spaniel
Bred to work in the cold Great Lakes region of the US, these dogs have a thick, waterproof coat, webbed toes, padded feet and a svelte body that can jump to and from small boats.
Boykin spaniel
The Boykin spaniel was bred for hunting wild turkeys in South Carolina's river corridors in the early 20th century.
Chinook
A sled dog, the chinook is a good family pet thanks to its patience and intelligence.
Siberian husky
Another sled dog, Siberian huskies look similar to Alaskan malamutes but are smaller.
Miniature schnauzer
Originating from Germany, miniature schnauzers are loyal companion dogs which were originally bred to hunt rodents.
Great Dane
This striking dog originated in Germany (they're also known as a German mastiff) and were bred to guard the estates of nobles.
German shorthaired pointer
The third most beautiful dog in the US, German shorthaired pointer is considered to be a loyal dog suited for families.
Alaskan malamute
This sled-dog breed just missed out on the title of being the most beautiful dog with its facial proportions 0.01 off the ideal ratio.
