'We've been keeping a little secret': Sammi Sweetheart and fiancé Justin May announce they're pregnant after fertility struggles

Jersey Shore star Sammi 'Sweetheart' Giancola and her fiancé Justin May have shared the wonderful news that they're having a baby. 

The couple made the announcement on Instagram, sharing a series of snaps and explained it's been a long and difficult road to get here. 

"We've been keeping a little secret…" the caption began.

"After struggling through years of infertility, this is the absolute greatest blessing we could ever possibly ask for!" the couple continued.

"We are so thrilled to finally be able to share the news of our little miracle with you all! Our hearts have never been so full of love, we can't wait to meet you baby!" 

The post was flooded with congratulatory messages for the couple. 

Her Jersey Shore co-star Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi commented, "So so so happy for you both!!! You deserve it all my loves!!!"

Others who have been on a similar fertility journey wished them all the best for this new chapter.

Sammi and Justin previously spoke about their IVF journey, which resulted in a miscarriage last year. 

In an episode of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation that aired in November, the reality star opened up about the loss and how her partner was such a support throughout that part of their journey.

"This has been a very long process," she said. "It's been a lot of shots. It's been a lot of hormones."

The 37-year-old added, "the thought of even being pregnant … such a magical moment for me… to have that taken away – it's devastating for me."

During the episode she praised Justin for being so positive and uplifting throughout the tough time. 

"He's so special to me, and I just am so thankful for him," she said in a confessional. "He's been by my side through this whole thing. I just love him."

Sammi and Justin got engaged in March 2024, something that was also shared in the same episode as their fertility struggles. 

"Life update: Fiancé 💍🥹♥️ 3.16.24 The easiest question I've ever answered.. happiest & luckiest girl in the world 😭 I'll love you forever and then some," she captioned the announcement post on Instagram. 

The couple started dating in August 2022. 

She explained she wanted to be open and honest with their journey to parenthood with IVF, but was "nervous" because not everyone believes in it. 

But she wanted to talk about it in the hopes that someone else could relate to it, and their story would help them.
