Red Wiggle Caterina reveals the reality of twin pregnancy and when she wants to return to work

For many women, pregnancy does not come easily.

But for red Wiggle Caterina Mete, being pregnant with twins while also performing with The Wiggles, makes it all the more challenging.

Mete, who took on the red skivvy in 2021, has posted a video about "the reality of pregnancy".

In the video posted to her and The Wiggles Instagrams she lists all the things she's "realised during pregnancy".

Including:

Swollen hands
Always thirsty
Dropping things and picking it up
Needing to go to the bathroom

Any mum who's been through pregnancy can relate to this list, so Mete goes on to ask her followers if there's anything she's missed.

One respondent writes, "the exhaustion", while another says "sore hips, back, feet".

One follower asks Mete if her food cravings have been "fruit salad" which she cheekily answered "naturally".

Mete first announced she was expecting twins in February, saying it was "all thanks to an anonymous donor" from her fertility clinic.

The red wiggle is receiving ongoing support from the public about her decision as well as how she's managing pregnancy with performing.

One fan wrote, "my family went to see the Wiggles yesterday and couldn't believe you were up there dancing around with your twins! You're doing very well".

While another agreed adding, "I just had twin girls and I literally cannot imagine doing what you do on the daily, pregnancy is one thing, twin pregnancy is a whole other level."

Anthony Field told 9honey Parenting the support Mete received from sharing her story has been amazing.

"She's been getting so many great messages from mums, from women, from single mums saying 'that's incredible you've gone down that path, thank you for being vocal about it'."

Field says now Mete is heading into her final trimester they're now starting to see a bigger bump.

"She's had her skirt altered to go over the bump."

Anthony's daughter Lucia Field says it's exciting to watch.

"The bump is so cute [because] she's such a little woman," she said.

Anthony says it's all getting to be more real now Mete is just 13 weeks away from her due date in June or July.

But it seems the twin arrivals won't stop the show from going on with Mete already discussing her return to The Wiggles.

Field reveals she already has plans to return to work just months after having the babies.

"I don't know if she's in Disneyland or not but I've got a few emails [saying] she's going to return around September, October, [but] I reckon it's just see how we go."

This is the first time a Wiggle has been expecting while active on the team, with the group calling it "an unprecedented and joyous occasion".
