Kids seem to grow centimetres taller overnight sometimes, so tips on how to save money on their clothing are always welcome.

YouTube vlogger and UK mum Holly Smith shared a simple idea on TikTok - and others are wondering why didn't think of it first.

"Now you know when you go shopping on ASOS or In The Style or any clothing website and you go to the clearance section and they have size two, size four, size six and they never have your adult size? Buy the small sizes for your kids - they fit them perfectly. That's what I do and I save a fortune," she said.

She also showed her recent purchases so her followers would get an idea of how to shop for their little ones, which she was able to grab for only four to five dollars.

"As you can see, size two is small enough and it will fit a 10 year old," she said.

Other mums praised her for her genius idea.

"Your kids must be super trendy," said one commenter.

"I'm 5ft and shop in the kids all the time. Never thought of this for my kid," said one mum.
