"Did you know that a #pregnant woman's brain shrinks in volume by as much as 5 per cent during her third trimester?"

West joked that it makes perfect sense to her, after what's been happening to her in recent weeks.

"Lately I've been losing keys, getting names wrong and last week in the middle of an online safety talk to school kids I completely forgot the word 'iPad'… vamoosh! Irretrievably gone from my vocabulary! So embarrassing… Umm…yeah… Uh…what we talking about?" she joked.

"OH YES! the good news is following birth, steady rebuilding of the brain takes place which according to scientists means human #women might have evolved to be capable of an EXTRA phase of brain development not unlike what we go through as #children - A deep pruning that proceeds a massive period of #learning.

"I'm now on round seven and still waiting for those brand-new smarts to kick in… Well they do say 7th times a charm…don't they?" she finished the post.

A lot of other mums shared their own stories of how much baby brain impacted them when they were pregnant.

"The word 'pen' disappeared from my brain I had to say the thing you make marks on paper with," replied one woman.

Another mum commented, "Oh I feel you! In my third trimester with my first son I poured boiling water into the peanut butter jar. The brain fog is real!"

Others just reassured her that she looks absolutely radiant and wished her well for this pregnancy.

But it turns out baby brain really is a thing and a recent study found that pregnancy does change a woman's brain in more ways than previously thought.

West announced she was pregnant in January, joking she thought it was perimenopause at first.

"Whoops! Thought it was perimenopause. I thought WRONG," she jokingly commenced the post.
