Hollywood dad pays tribute to 'breastfeeding mums everywhere'
James Van Der Beek is best known for his role on teen drama Dawson's Creek.
Since then he's gone on to become a father-of-five and one who wears his heart on his sleeve - or Instagram feed - with the actor paying tribute this week to the mother of his children, along with other mums the world over.
The 41-year-old actor shared a selfie alongside wife Kimberly Van Der Beek, who is seen nursing their youngest daughter Gwendolyn, with the caption: "Breastfeeding mums everywhere... we salute you"
Beneath the caption, which also included a peace sign emoji, the actor also had a message for mums who don't breastfeed.
"Non-breastfeeding mums … we salute you, too," he wrote, followed by a love heart emoji.
"Just trying to do our part to normalise a natural, beautiful human behaviour that has been, at times, absurdly stigmatised."
The post got a huge response with almost 40,000 likes in one day and hundreds of comments.
Gwendolyn, the newest addition to the Van Der Beek clan, was born on June 15.
James and Kimberley also have four older children - Olivia, 7, Joshua, 6, Annabel Leah, 4, and Emilia, 2.
