An Aussie influencer who filmed herself leaving her six-month-old baby alone in a hotel room in Bali to go for a massage has fired off a social media post to address so-called 'misinformation' about the incident.

Taleigha Skye had been enjoying a family holiday in Bali with her partner and two sons when she posted a now-deleted clip of herself heading out for a massage armed with a baby monitor, leaving her baby son alone in the accommodation.

The Perth-based influencer has come under fire for her actions, which resulted in her issuing an apology earlier this week, but she has now gone a step further.

Skye, who boasts 16,000 Instagram followers and has a more than 74,000-strong following on TikTok, claimed she did not leave the resort and was "not away from the room for a long period of time".

"The hotel room was in my direct sight [and] the pool and wellness area were only metres away," she said in the post.

"I was not away from the room for a long period of time. I was watching him on the monitor the entire time, and was close enough that I could access the room in seconds if I needed."

Skye ended the post by saying, "This context is not an excuse; it's simply to correct what's being said.

"I regret my choices and take full responsibility. It's not something I would ever do again."

Skye's original post on TikTok showing her leaving her son alone in the Bali hotel room received widespread attention after it was shared on a closed Facebook page Tea Time, which has a 230,000-strong following.

The Daily Mail reports that group members immediately drew comparisons to the case of missing British toddler Madeleine McCann.

McCann, three, went missing from her parents' holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal, on May 3, 2007, after they left her and her two younger siblings alone in the room while they went for dinner at a nearby tapas bar.

McCann has never been found, and it remains one of the most well-known missing child cases in the world.

Many in the Tea Time community questioned Skye's decision and drew parallels to the case.

Skye addressed the fallout in a comment she posted on her Instagram Stories, which was still visible on Tuesday.

"I want to address what's been circulating online," she wrote.

"I made a poor decision and I take full responsibility for it.

"Although I was only metres away from the locked resort room and had constant monitoring, I recognise that this did not make the situation safe."

Skye added that while they have "a lovely nanny here in Bali", she was "unavailable that day".

"This is not justification, just context," her post continued.

"I understand the seriousness of my actions, and I can confidently say this is the first and last time it will ever happen."
