'Rest peacefully, son': Viral YouTuber Daniel Coleman announces death of teenage boy

YouTuber and children's entertainer Daniel Coleman has announced the death of his 14-year-old son, Isaac, after a devastating battle with Stage 3 mouth cancer.

The "Danny Go!" creator shared the heartbreaking news in an emotional Instagram tribute, describing the loss of his eldest child as a pain "far more than I can process".

"Oh my sweet boy," he wrote.

"There's so much I want to say, but I don't know how yet. I already miss you so much."

Coleman said looking back through thousands of family photos and videos over the past week had filled him with pride for the way Isaac handled years of serious health complications.

"Your 14 years were full of so many challenges, but you met them all with such grit … and you somehow kept your trademark joy in spite of it all," he wrote.

The YouTuber shares Isaac and his younger son Levi with his wife, Mindy Coleman.

The family first revealed Isaac's cancer diagnosis in December last year, explaining the teenager had developed Stage 3 mouth cancer connected to Fanconi anaemia.

The rare inherited condition affects bone marrow and increases the risk of certain cancers and blood disorders.

"We found out last week that Isaac has cancer in his mouth," Coleman told followers at the time.

"... We always knew this day was coming, as it's a near certainty [with] Fanconi anemia."

He said the diagnosis still came as an awful shock.

In the months that followed, Coleman kept fans updated as Isaac underwent scans and treatment.

The family initially hoped the cancer could be removed surgically, but later learned treatment options were limited because of complications linked to Fanconi anaemia.

By February, Coleman had cancelled the remainder of his "Danny Go!" tour as Isaac's condition deteriorated.

Coleman said Isaac had entered hospice care, with medical teams helping manage his pain while the family tried to make each day "as enjoyable and restful as possible".

"Mindy and I are heartbroken ... but we're trying to hold it all together & keep soaking up the time we still have with our boy."

Isaac had lived with serious health complications for much of his life. Coleman previously revealed his son had Fanconi anaemia and underwent a kidney transplant in 2021.

The "Danny Go!" YouTube channel launched the same year after Coleman left his corporate role at Lowe's to focus on creating children's content full-time. The channel has since attracted more than 4.5 million subscribers.

In his final tribute, Coleman said remembering how loved Isaac was had brought some comfort amid the grief.

"Being your dad was the honour of a lifetime," he wrote.

"I'm so proud of you, and I love you forever. Rest peacefully, son."
