A dad-to-be has allowed the excitement surrounding the gender reveal for his unborn baby get the better of him, forgetting to do the one thing he really should have - hug his girlfriend before his mates.

Travis Gober and girlfriend Hannah organised a sports-themed gender reveal and invited their family and friends to join them for the special moment.

In the video, posted to their TikTok account, the couple executed a unique gender reveal that involved Hannah throwing a coloured powder-filled baseball towards Travis who then hits it with a baseball bat.

As the ball is hit, a puff of blue powder marks the moment the couple learn they are having a son. It also is the moment Travis turns to his friends for a big embrace - leaving his pregnant girlfriend to celebrate alone away from the group.

Despite not getting the chance to celebrate with her partner Hannah posted the video to her TikTok with the caption: "We're so ready to meet you."

The dad-to-be slammed by online for his reaction on the day.

"Poor baby girl, my heart became so sad when they pushed you out of the way," one viewer wrote. Another commented, "Why are men the way they are … congrats mama."

Hannah responded to the comments saying that her boyfriend felt super bad about the situation, but the video continued to gather negative attention and millions of views.
