Brooke Shields' surprising parenting admission about adult daughters: 'In the bed with me'

Brooke Shields has revealed she still lets her daughters Rowan, 20, and Grier, 18, sleep in her bed - a divisive move, according to many parents.

Most want to kick their kids out of the bed by the time they're toddlers, or at least before their teen years hit.

But the actress mum is more than happy to keep her two daughters, whom she shares with husband Chris Henchy, close for as long as possible - even if that means sharing a doona.

"My younger daughter just turned 18. You know, the minute my husband is on any type of work trip or gone or something, you know, they still sleep in the bed with me," she said on US radio station SiriusXM's The Jess Cagle Show.

"We still watch rom-coms. They're my babies and they will never not be."

Rowan is already at college and Grier is set to start in the US autumn, leaving Shields and her husband with a very empty home.

The Blue Lagoon star confessed she hopes her girls don't stay away too long and said she's always happy to have them back at home, whether it's during college breaks or for longer stints of time.

"People will say to me, 'Oh, you're gonna be so relieved [to have them both out of the house],' and I just don't see it happening," Shields said.

"Maybe I'll start charging them rent though. That might be a good idea."

She added that the high cost of living in the US may even "work in [her] favour", as it could encourage her daughters to continue living at home longer.

Shields' youngest daughter Grier turned 18 just last month and her famous mum celebrated the huge milestone with a sweet social media tribute.

"My baby girl is 18 💛 I love being your mom (sic) and seeing the wonderful woman you're growing into," Shields wrote alongside a series of throwback photos.

"Happy golden birthday, Grier! I love you! ✨🎉."

She previously told The Huffington Post her "biggest fear" as a mum is that she will "fail" her children.

But judging by the sweet bond she shares with Rowan and Grier, it looks like she never needed to worry.
