Reality star and TV presenter Angie Kent has had her first embryo transfer after pausing her solo parenting journey shortly before her father’s death.

The 36-year-old shared the news in a candid Instagram post detailing her routine on the day, which included meditation, acupuncture and the traditional post-transfer meal of Macca’s fries, and the emotional highs and lows.

When it came time for the long-awaited moment, Kent said it “happened so fast I felt like I was sleepwalking”.

The Space Invaders co-host admitted there were a few tears in the clinic before having a good cry back in her car.

“Tears of joy, tears from grief. All the feels at once. The full human experience,” she said.

“Sitting in the car talking to my little embryo… thinking about how a part of my dad is within me right now, how I believe he was just with my chosen little emby in the other realm, right before being transferred here into me.”

Kent’s father passed away earlier this year, two days after her embryos had arrived in Brisbane for the next stage of the process.

"On Tuesday the 28th of April, I found out my embryos were finally on their way from Sydney to Brisbane. The moment I'd been waiting for. The next chapter for me and my family," she shared in an Instagram post.

"That same day, I was told there was nothing left they could do. Dad was going into palliative care. That timing really messed with my head. Something so beautiful was finally coming, and something so beautiful was being taken away.

"Two days later, on Thursday the 30th of April, I watched my dad take his final breath.

"My dream of starting my own family with my Mumma and Pappa right by my side… it feels like it's been ripped out from under me."

Kent restarted the IVF/embryo transfer process in September explaining that she was continuing to grieve while also having hope for her parenting dream.

“Navigating how to get back on track with my embryo transfer after losing my dad has been heavvvvy, to say the least,” she said.

“I’m seeing my IVF specialist for the first time since he passed. So much has changed since the last time I sat in that waiting room and I can truly feel that shift in my entire body.

“I’m taking it one day at a time or life’s just feels all too consuming and daunting. I have so much guilt.”

The former Bachelorette revealed her decision to undergo IVF solo in December 2025 describing it as feeling “intentional and deeply aligned” and not like a “plan B”.

She also shared her journey in the series Big Miracles, explaining that she wanted to show others in her situation that it could be done.

“I’ve got all these chronic illnesses, I’m neurodivergent, I’m queer, and I’ve never really seen that representation on television,” she said.

Kent also wants to change the perception of single women having children on their own.

“To me, it’s not a sad situation where it’s like, ‘Oh I’m single I haven’t found my person’, I am my person and I can create this for myself. I want people to know that it’s not a sad situation, it’s not a last resort, this is my choice,” she said.
